The World Wide Web
As a Resource For
Teaching and Learning the Curriculum:

An Introduction for Teachers

by Thea Jones

from NetVision's
Spring Into The Net
Teachers-Training-Teachers experiment
May 1997

This guide for training teachers in the use of the World Wide Web as a teaching tool was developed by Thea Jones, an Educational Technology Supervisor with the Baltimore County school district. It was selected as part of NetVision's decentralized teacher-training experiment because, though it was originally designed for a 2.5 hour presentation, it can be adapted easily to shorter presentations. The guide consists of three parts:

  1. A summary

  2. An outline of a training session, and

  3. A broad-based list of good educational Web sites to get teachers interested in using the Web
