Information on How to Search for Religious Music

There is a lot of information on religious music in the world wide web. When you search for simple keywords, such as "religious music," you will get a long list of links to various webpages that are related to religious music. To distinguish useful information from commercial advertisement, you need to be specific in the search. One way to approach this is to add more key words. Some keywords to use along with "religious music" are the following:

  • Specific Religion: Christianity, Buddhism, Jewish, Islam/Muslim, Hinduism, African.

  • Artists: this usually gives you sites of religious music singers

  • Songs: this ususally gives you sites to songs/lyrics archives

  • Contemporary

  • Spiritual

  • Gospel

  • Medieval

  • Modern

  • Hymns

    Some excellent search engines to use to search for religious music:

  • www.alltheweb.com: gives you instantaneous results

  • www.metacrawler.com: searches through various search engines such as Yahoo, Alta Vista, Lycos, Excite, and others

  • www.northernlight.com: the most popular sites. The links are typical of most visited sites.
