Request for reviewers - Office of Indian Education
The Office of Indian Education, U.S. Department of Education, is seeking readers to participate in the evaluation of applications submitted for the Professional Development program. The Professional Development program is a competitive grant program that supports activities to increase the number of qualified Indian individuals in professions that serve Indian people. The focus of the program in this competition will be teacher training. A total of $10,000,000 has been appropriated for new awards. We estimate that the awards will range from $300,000 to $500,000 each. The reading process will take place in Washington, DC. Readers selected to participate in the panel reviews will have round trip airfare and lodging costs prepaid by the Office of Indian Education. Readers will be reimbursed for meal expenses and miscellaneous costs (such as local transportation, airport parking, etc.). Additionally, an honorarium may be paid for each day of reading. The panel reviews will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and end on Thursday evening, with travel occurring on Saturday and Friday. The reviews are tentatively planned to occur either the week of June 4-8 or June 11-16, 2000.If you are interested in being considered as a reader, please submit a current resume addressing your qualifications to read for this program to:
