SAWNET

SOUTH ASIAN WOMEN'S NET (SAWNET)

Sawnet (South Asian Women's NET) is a forum for south asian women, and those interested in issues relevant to south asian women. 'South Asia' is taken to include Bangladesh Bhutan, Burma, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The topics for discussion include both issues of general interest, such as literacy for women in S.Asia, as well as those of specific interest to the members. The mailing list has been in existence for four years. The group is moderated in the sense that abusive or purely provocative posts are declined by the moderator, who may sometimes also suggest modification of a post, but the posts are not edited in any other way.

The group is restricted to women only by the consensus vote of the members.

If you are interested in subscribing to Sawnet, send a message to sawnet@qiclab.scn.rain.com
with the subject 'Sawnet subscription request'.
