Seeking Collaboration in Organizing International Youth Exchange Programme
Dear Sir/Madam, Seeking Collaboration in Organizing International Youth Exchange Programme Study Tour to the United States 2000 On behalf of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, I am writing to seek collaboration with your esteemed organization for the captioned subject. Our Federation is a voluntary youth service organization subvented by the government with the main objective of providing opportunities and facilities for the social, educational, cultural and physical development of young people. As one of the largest youth service organizations, our Federation always takes a leading role in organizing innovative projects to meet the changing needs of young people in Hong Kong. For the past decade, our Federation has been launching various international youth exchange programmes in order to equip our young people with an international perspective and to keep them abreast of the political, social, economic and cultural development of other countries. Study Tours to different countries like the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia, South Africa and other Asian countries have been organized for young people. Among those, there were two Study Tours to the USA organized in 1992 and 1996 respectively with the theme on ˇ§Presidential Electionsˇ¨. All of these youth exchange programmes gained great support from the communities concerned and proved to be successful and very worthwhile. This year, we are planning to organize another 14-day Study Tour to the United States on the theme of Presidential Elections in October. Through studying the elections, it is hoped that our delegates could understand more about how the democratic system of the United States works, and compare with that of Hong Kong so as to enhance their political knowledge and social awareness. We learn that your organization concerns the well-being of youth international wide. It is my pleasure to attach herewith the Proposal of the Study Tour to the United States 2000 for your perusal. The Study Tour is tentatively scheduled from 28 October to 10 November 2000. If you are unavailable to undertake the programme this time, please kindly refer us to any organizations which you think suitable. I hope you will find it worthwhile to take part in receiving our youth delegation of the Study Tour. I shall appreciate very much if your goodself could kindly give us comments or suggestions on the project and we are most willing to discuss with you the form of collaboration. For your information, the cost of the tour will be borne by our side and it will be our pleasure to receive youth delegates from the United States for a reciprocal visit to Hong Kong in future. Should you need further information, please feel free to contact the undersigned or Ms. Eva Tseung, our Youth Exchange Officer by email at the following address: ye@hkfyg.org.hk , or visit our website (www.hkfyg.org.hk/ye). Thank you for your kind attention and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours sincerely, Mishelle Yiu Supervisor (Youth Exchange) |
