Published by the Johns Hopkins University Press, Callaloo was one of the first six journals to be put online as part of Project Muse which continues to digitize JHU Press journals at the rate of approximately one new journal per month.The premier African-American literary journal, Callaloo publishes original works by and critical studies of black writers worldwide. The journal offers a rich mixture of fiction, poetry, plays, critical essays, cultural studies, interviews, and visual art. Among its more notable features, the electronic issues of Calallo include gallery-style viewing of artwork for up-close study and comparison.
