The Women of Color/Southern Women on CD-ROM

Available at McKeldin Library, this resource houses over 6500 citations to books, journal articles, book reviews, and unpublished works such as doctoral dissertations and nonprint media. Source materials date back to 1975 and subject emphasis is on the humanities and social sciences. Author, title, and keyword searches may be performed; a list of keyword terms is available in the print documentation.

Example: Under the "Reference" option, a subject search on the keywords "African American," "Literature," and "Women's History" will pull up records such as:

1983 Branzburg, Judith Vivian

     "Women Novelists of the Harlem Renaissance: A Study of Marginality."
     Dissertation: University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. pp.179.
Keywords assigned to this citation:

     This product also offers human resources information.  Searches on     
keyword terms will retrieve directory information for individuals with a 
particular subject specialization.
     Example: Under the "Human Resources: option, a subject search on the
terms "Folk Culture" and "African American" will retrieve information on how
to reach Dr. Adrienne Andrews, a professor located in the Afro-American 
Studies Department at Smith College.
