Aging Non-Government Organizations

Adult Health and Development Program: The AHDP is an intergenerational health promotion and rehabilitation program in which college students are paired with older adults for the purpose of engaging in health and wellness activities.
Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE): This organization was "established in 1974 to advance gerontology as a field of study in institutions of higher learning" and "to foster research, instructional, and service programs to enhance the capacities of institutions of higher education in the field of aging and to help make their resources available to benefit the wider community and society."
Elderhostel: "Elderhostel, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization providing educational adventures all over the world to adults aged 55 and over."
Gerontological Society of America: This society was "established in 1945 to promote the scientific study of aging, to encourage exchanges among researchers and practitioners from various disciplines related to gerontology, and to foster the use of gerontological research in forming public policy."
New York Statewide Resource Center for Geriatric Education: "The New York Statewide Resource Center for Geriatric Education was founded in 1981 through an act of the New York State Legislature in order to stimulate and improve geriatric medical education programs throughout the state."
SeniorNet: "The nonprofit SeniorNet provides adults 50+ access to and education about computer technology and the Internet to enhance their lives and enable them to share their knowledge and wisdom."
The 60 Plus Association: The 60 Plus Association is a non-partisan seniors advocacy group with a free enterprise, less government, less taxes approach to seniors issues.
