EQUITY COUNCIL STATEMENT OF MISSION

The Equity Council serves as an advisory group to the President and gives leadership to the articulation and development of affirmative action, desegregation and grievance resolution policies and procedures for the campus community. Following the develop ment of these campus policies and procedures, individual Equity Administrators assist the Major Unit Head (President, Vice President and Deans) in implementing and monitoring these policies and procedures at the College and major unit level. The Council, therefore, serves as a resource to individual council members as well as to the campus community on these issues.

The Council consists of representatives from each vice president’s and dean’s office and the director of Human Relations. An assistant to the president, the Equity Administrator for the President’s Office is also a member and serves as Chair of the Counc il.
