The publication of the Human Relations Code formalizes and provides structure to a conviction which must be at the heart of any university seeking to be worthy of its name. The code embodies a concern for equality in educational and employment activities opportunities which is based on pedagogic, humane and legal principles. These principles provide the foundation for the respect of diversity which is at the heart of academic freedom.
