CFP: LIT: Literature Interpretation Theory (no deadline; journal)
LIT Literature Interpretation Theory Editors in Chief Lee A. Jacobus and Regina Barreca University of Connecticut LIT publishes critical essays that offer rigorous textual analysis from a variety of theoretical approaches including, but not limited to: cultural and social criticism, political criticism, formalism, structuralism, semiotics, and hermeneutics. We welcome studies on feminist and gender issues, on ethnic criticism as well as on new historicism and old. The aim of the journal is to provide a forum for sometimes competing theoretical views. We publish criticism in English and do not restrict the journal's scope in terms of period or nation. We encourage essays that synthesize ideology, art, and aesthetics and we discourage essays that are exclusively explication. Essays accompanied by illustrations are especially welcome. LIT assumes that submission of a paper implies that no other journal or publisher is currently considering the paper for publication in the form in which it is submitted. Papers should be submitted in triplicate. All submissions will be acknowledged and decided upon within three months. Copyright remains in the possession of the journal. The MLA Style Sheet is the preferred guide to the preparation of papers. LIT welcomes illustrated essays. Photographs are to be original, preferably 8 x 10 inches black and white glossies. Color illustrations should be in transparency form. It is the responsibility of authors to secure permission for publication from the original source of the illustration. Line drawings are to be original, no larger than 8 x 10 inches. All illustrations will be returned to author. We have no restrictions on length of articles. A 150-word abstract should accompany submissions of papers. Authors will receive page proofs of text and illustrations by airmail for correction. Authors must provide up-to-date addresses for the processing of proofs. Twenty-five free reprints will be provided the senior author on publication. Additional reprints may be ordered by completing the appropriate form sent with proofs. For questions or comments, e-mail Managing Editor Margaret E. Mitchell at margaret.e.mitchell@uconn.edu.
