for K-8 science and mathematics education

Contents:

1. Computer-based Manipulatives : Overview of freeware, shareware, demos and Web sites that support discovery-oriented experiences, with the emphasis on science and math. Each workshop participant will receive a free custom-made CD-ROM containing copies of all freeware, shareware, and demo software demonstrated in the workshop.

2. A selection of Lessons and Activities for K-5 Science

3. "When Dragons eat the Sun" , a technology-enhanced lesson on the stars, planets, moon and sun as seen from Earth. Uses the planetarium simulator program CyberSky (in the Software folder on the workshop CD-ROM) as well as several Web sites. Print out and duplicate this Student Worksheet for your students to record their observations and answers.

4. "In Living Color" , a technology-enhanced lesson on the science and mathematics of color. Uses the color selection program RGBtoHEX (in the Software folder on the workshop CD-ROM). Print out and duplicate this Student Worksheet for your students to record their observations and answers.
