Welcome to the Center for the Study of Post-Communist Societies (CSPCS) on the web at the University of Maryland, College Park. This site contains information on the goals of the CSPCS, as written in our mission statement. Additionally, a calander of featured speakers and events, as well as a directory of associates and current fellows to the CSPCS, can be found at this site. A list of recent publications will be made available in the near future.

We at the CSPCS are working to foster a greater academic network among universities in East-Central Europe (and around the world). Our idea is to bring these learning institutions together with the policy makers of this region to help bring democracy and market-oriented economies to East-Central Europe. This area of study is relatively new and, thus, changes occur rapidly. We at the CSPCS are dedicated to keeping abreast of events as they happen.
