Maryland Student Affairs Conference - Friday, February 13, 2008

Maryland Student Affairs Conference linkAs student affairs professionals, educators and mentors, we are in a unique position to help students in their process of developing authenticity and wholeness by exploring life’s “big” questions, reflecting on their lives, and discovering a sense of meaning, purpose and faith. Join us for the 35th Annual Maryland Student Affairs Conference as we explore the spiritual dimension of student development and promote conversation about meaning-making.

The spiritual dimension of student development—that is the search for meaning and purpose—impacts all facets of students’ lives, including positive associations with physical well-being, relationships with others, decisions regarding alcohol use, coping with hardship, and much more. The formative years spent on college and university campuses provide many opportunities to search for meaning. Through academic and co-curricular experiences, students discover their talents, abilities and passions. The quest for meaning takes place both in the classroom and outside of it—in social, recreational, community and work environments—and relies heavily on our connectedness to self and others.
