At the suggestion of the Diversity Initiative's Research and Evaluation sub-committee, OHRP conduced a large-scale assessment of students' perceptions of diversity at the University. SILC was developed in response to the expressed concerns and needs of students at the University of Maryland that emerged from this and other on-campus research. SILC iscomprised of a series of initiatives that engage students in myriad experiences through which intercultural skills are developed and nurtured.

An annual retreat to promote leadership skills in diversity issues.
