Through the Faculty Support Award (FSA), the faculty relations committee of the Diversity Initiative seeks to encourage faculty to engage in diversity-related research by providing funds for extra and/or specialized research time and/or a course "buy-out," FSA recipients use their awards to focus their research efforts on discipline-specific diversity scholarship. As a part of this program, the recipient of the FSA serves on the Committee the year following their award. The FSA is collaboratively sponsored by the Diversity Initiative, the Office of the Associate Provost for Equity and Diversity, and the Office of Research and Graduate Studies.
