The Sexual Harassment Prevention Program (SHPP) is a collaborative effort between OHRP and the Legal Office staff designed to educate faculty, staff, and students across the campus community about sexual harassment. This is a proactive educational program that seeks to lower incidences of sexual harassment on campus by providing education and training on the legal definitions of sexual harassment, supervisor responsibility/liability with respect to behavior and climate in the employment or educational environment, intervention/confrontation techniques, and resources available to those who may experience sexual harassment. These trainings occur in a variety of settings including staff development workshops, unit professional development sessions, classrooms, fraternity and sorority houses, and so forth. Trainings in Spanish, non-text based trainings, Power Point trainings, and Training of Trainers (TOT's) are also available. All SHPP materials are ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant. The SHPP is in the process of developing Asian languages and on-line training options as well. OHRP maintains an extensive database that tracks campus unit/department participation in the program. You may request SHPP training by filling out the form below, or by contacting the Campus Compliance Officer. You can obtain a copy of the University of Maryland Sexual Harassment policy here, and it is also included in our training package which may be downloaded below.
