Changes to the inforM System

Fellow University of Maryland Web Developers

The OIT Web Services staff will be replacing outdated university and inforM graphics over the next few months on the inforM system. This is a part of our continued efforts to bring consistency to the university web presence. Our actions will include blanket changing of the standardized web page footers to incorporate the new university identity where it does not currently exist.

This action will NOT affect those using their own web style on the inforM system. It will only affect those who have chosen the standard inforM templates in the past. If your web site is not hosted on inforM it will not be affected.

Please help us in our efforts by checking your pages for the following items and taking the appropriate action.

InforM Graphics and Links
References and links to inforM's homepage and inforM's FAQ should be removed from your web site's navigation. The inforM system no longer exists as a Campus-Wide -Information-System (CWIS). It has been replaced by the University of Maryland home web site. Please make sure your navigation links back to the university's homepage and not to inforM.

University Graphics and Links
Information about the appropriate use of the university's informal seal and signature mark can be found at www.umd.edu/identity/web. This site also tells you which older UMD logos have been discontinued and should no longer be used.

inforM@Maryland logo
The black and red inforM@Maryland logo has also been discontinued. This graphic will no longer be available for use on university web pages.

Questions can be directed to webservices@umail.umd.edu or 301.405.4715.

Thank you for your cooperation.
